Kevin conceived the concept for Smith Rodgers while handling “technical assistance” legal inquiries with renowned NCJA colleagues Reece Trimmer and Ralph Strickland during the 1990’s.  Recognizing the importance of dependable police legal support—particularly beyond standard office hours—Smith Rodgers PLLC began providing around-the-clock, real-time services in 2001.

Kevin particularly enjoys legal problem-solving at the patrol level.  He is also an experienced classroom instructor and consultant on Sheriff civil process matters.
